The Supporting Parent Carers in England (SPaCE) study, is looking to understand Parent Carers of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) experiences of accessing support or treatment for their mental health.

The aim of this survey is to find out how parent carers of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), who are experiencing mental health problems, access support or treatment across England. By taking part, you will help researchers gather valuable information, to improve access to mental health support and services for parent carers experiencing mental health difficulties in the future.

They would like to hear from parent carers of children or young people with special educational needs, up to the age of 25 years old, in England.

The online survey takes up to 10 minutes to complete.

After completing the survey, you will be asked if you might be interested in taking part in a 45-60 minute follow-up interview. The purpose of the interview is to learn more detail about parent carers’ experiences after the survey.

We know parent carers are very busy, so we’ve designed it with parent carers, specifically with this in mind. You can stop the survey at any time and come back to it.

The survey can be completed on your phone, laptop, or computer.  Different formats maybe available, including paper based, large format. Please contact space@exeter.ac.uk for further details.
