Could you help Mind to deliver training and create resources to ensure their work meets the needs of marginalised communities?*
They are looking for 2 people from a diverse range of communities to help influence and deliver their work, and to ensure their work meets the needs of marginalised communities.
Why are Mind doing this?
They have big goals over the next few years. They are fighting to make sure everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve.
From their research, we know Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Caribbean, and African communities have the highest levels of inactivity, mental health stigma and live in the top 30% of deprived areas.
What do Mind hope to achieve?
Through equitable partnerships with organisations, the Physical Activity team is working towards improving mental health awareness, tackling inequalities, and addressing mental health stigma for people from marginalised communities.
Building on their equitable partnerships, including work with the Muslim Sports Foundation and Sporting Equals, they aim to:
- Facilitate 4 consultation workshops.
- Design and deliver training with organisations.
- Design and develop mental health resources.
As a lived experience advisor, you’ll help them to deliver our physical activity communities work and have your ideas heard on a national platform.
