King’s College London are looking for people to get involved in their Cancer prevention group.

The Cancer Prevention Group’s research focusses on cancer prevention and early detection. Research themes include existing screening approaches, potential early detection technologies, interventions to reduce cancer risk, psychological impact(s) of screening participation, and screening-related inequalities.

We work with Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) members to help shape, update and refine this research. Our PPI work is aimed at creating more democratic and equitable research. We have a standing PPI Panel and a PPI Pool for this.

  • The PPI Panel is involved in higher-level, decision-making committee input.
  • The PPI Pool is a larger group, for anyone interested in more study-specific involvement: individuals are able to sign up to studies on a case-by-case basis, as preferred.

Who we are looking for:

Anyone interested! Our research is aimed at improving outcomes for the whole population. It is not necessary to have (or not have) a cancer diagnosis. Experience of screening is also not a prerequisite. Everyone’s views are important: we are keen to hear from as wide a range of voices as possible.

For any enquiries, please email cpg-ppi@kcl.ac.uk or message 07786 624372.

There are no deadlines to apply. Anyone interested is invited to sign up, whenever they feel time and circumstances might allow

If you apply to take part in this study please let the organisers know you saw it advertised by Shaping Our Lives. Thank you!
