The project focuses on adapting the Friendship Bench Zimbabwe, a successful, community-driven mental health initiative originally developed in Zimbabwe, to better support Black communities in London. The goal is to create a culturally responsive, accessible mental wellness programme that meets the specific needs of underserved communities.
Who the team is looking for:
The team is currently recruiting participants for interviews to help shape the adaptation process. They are particularly looking for individuals who work with Black communities in a professional or supportive capacity, such as:
- Mental health practitioners
- Charity workers
- Peer/lay workers
Expected commitment from participants:
Interviews are expected to approximately last between 30 to 45 minutes for individual interviews and 60-90 minutes for focus group interviews. Appointments will also include completing consent forms, and a participant information form, therefore you will be booked in for 1.5 hours for individual interviews and 2 hours for focus group discussions, however appointments are likely to take less time.
Deadline to apply: ongoing
