Jonny Green is a lecturer and PhD student at University of Surrey. This study is being conducted as part of their PhD programme, aiming to explore the perspectives of service users and mental health nurse educators on what they believe should be considered in the evaluation of service user involvement in mental health nurse education. This study will help develop an understanding of the outcomes to be considered when service user involvement is involved in teaching.
The study aims to explore service users’ and nurse educators shared and distinct perspectives on the desired outcomes and effective of evaluation of service user involvement in pre-registration mental health nurse education. It will achieve this by achieving its three objectives:
- To identify the desired outcomes of service user involvement
- To identify appropriate methods of evaluation
- To identify a set of criteria for the evaluation of involvement based on the findings
Who they are looking for :
- People over the age of 18
- People living in the UK
- People with experience of using Mental Health Services
- People who have been involved in the teaching of mental health student nurses as a person with lived experience
Expected commitment from participants:
- You can express your interest in the form via the link below. You will then be sent a participant information sheet which you will need to read through before completing a consent form.
- Jonny will contact you to find out your availability to take part in a focus group. You will then receive an invitation with the time and date that works for the majority of participants.
- Focus groups of between 6-10 participants will be approximately 60-90 minutes long and conducted over Microsoft Teams.
- If you are unable to take part in a focus group, you will be invited via email to arrange a suitable time for a one-to-one interview.
- Interviews will take approximately 60 minutes and will be conducted over Microsoft Teams.
