The Opportunity

Arup has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our growing Stakeholder Engagement and Communications team. We are at the forefront of delivering best-in-class engagement, community relations, consultation and stakeholder management for some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects. We operate across all sectors of the built environment with major projects in energy, water and transport, with a large pipeline of work in those areas. You will be based in our brand new Birmingham office with our flexible working model of 2 days per week in the office or client office, along with days spent working from home. This role will also have some opportunities for travel to client sites across the UK.

Within our Cities, Planning and Design area of the business, you will be supported by our team of engagement specialists to undertake stakeholder engagement and community relations work on some of our most rewarding and challenging projects. You will be joining a UK-wide team of engagement professionals and a global cohort of specialists who are passionate about what we do. Reporting to the Midlands Engagement Lead, you will be a key member of the team managing existing projects and client relationships and helping to build and grow this area of the business.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

If you have a background in infrastructure stakeholder engagement, are passionate about developing and delivering effective and innovative communications and can demonstrate experience of engaging and consulting with a range of audiences, this may be the role for you. You will be managing and leading the stakeholder engagement, communications and community relations on complex infrastructure projects, taking clients through the consenting process. Possessing strong written and influencing skills, you will also manage consultation analysis, reporting requirements, client relationship management and support the development of some of our junior colleagues, taking your previous knowledge and expertise and bringing them to Arup.
